Here it is... My creation using Bobble, Flurry and All Seasons. The Bobble was a kick to work with once I loosend my tension and the Flurry was softer than a bunny so it was heaven knitting with it. I am not usually a novelty yarn person, but I think this little scarf turned out pretty funky and fun!

WARNING: What I am about to share with you is kinda gross. I need to point out two points. First, I live by the motto 'Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it' and second, my knitting bag, like my dog, goes pretty much everywhere with me. The first point explains why I have a minimum of three knitting projects in my bag... you never know what you are going to be in the mood to work on when you do get a moment to knit. The second point is to explain that since the knitting bag does go everywhere with me, on occasion it holds other various items, like car keys, bills, my wallet, left over fruit from lunch, etc. That left over fruit is the sad, gross reason for this post. It has been about a week since I have had a chance to open my knitting bag and today I just missed my projects so I need to take a peak at my stash...and that's when the smell hit me!!! At first I had no idea what the heck it was or where it was coming from so I continued to peak at my knitting stash. Then, under the kelly green cardigan, there it was...that nectarine I didn't finish from lunch last week :( That dang nectarine was stuck to the socks, to patterns, and to other balls of yarn not show. On the other items it wasn't stuck to, it left a very apparent aroma. Aaaaaaahhhh! Now I have to figure out how to either wash the yarn and half finished projects or how to finish the projects quickly so I can hurry and wash them. Oh, and a third point I should have added... I am not the most tolerant of unusual smells-so quick and effective action will be taken immediately, all the while keeping my nose in a krinkled position to clearly indicate the gross smell factor!! :P GGGggggrrrooooossssssssss!!!

Started the Clapotis over the weekend while at a BBQ with Ken's family and friends. While I was a few inches back I was asked a half dozen times if I was knitting a thong!!! As other people would come up and give me a funny look after looking at my knitting, I would simply say, "No- it's not a thong, it's the beginning of a scarf". I thought it was funny! What a great impression it would make on my family-to-be if I knit sexy lingerie at their family functions :P

So when's the big day? Where is it going to be? How many people in your wedding party? Is it odd that I don't have the answer to these questions yet?! We have been engaged for almost two weeks and I can only vaguely suggest that the wedding is in the spring. My mind is consumed by the fact that only 1/4 of the boxes have been unpacked and family & friends are eagerly awaiting a housewarming party. AAAaaahhh!!! Well, at least I managed to squeeze in the purchase of my first bridal magazine so that's a step in the right direction. :)

The Ugliest Dog

After the initial shock and terror from seeing that terribly ugly dog, I felt the need to learn more about him...Is he a nice or mean dog, do his people take good care of him, and is he really THAT ugly?! I found the blog for this UGLY dog and his momma...my mind is set at ease!! :)

Warning: Contains Shocking Graphics

I was searching through my usually blogs and found this on a doggy blog. It shocked the heck out of me, so I thought I would share it with you.

It feels pretty dang good to have been able to have made a little knitting progress in the midst of all the moving, packing and unpacking! The Katia Diana has been so great to work with... the viscose and angora make it oh-so-soft!!! With Karen's help, I got the Schaefer Yarn wound and ready for Clapotis. I think I will get a few rows of that done today on my lunch break. I can't wait to work with the Schaefer Yarn and see how the colors work up on the clapotis!!

Just had to share this picture on my new blended family :) This is Chaos (brown dog), Denver (fat cat), and Karma (black dog) sleeping in what little space is remaining on the bedroom floor. Where is Guppy (my dog) and Berk (my bunny) you may ask...well Guppy is sound asleep under the covers in the bed (which may be accidentally creating a hierarchy with the little dog on top) and Berk is being moved from room to room waiting patiently for his spot in the house to be determined. And there you have it...our family of five critters doing great at getting settled in :)

WooHoo!!! I found my knitting needles! Life is good :) Here is the yarn from A Swell Yarn Shop, the Tahki pattern and the long lost knitting needles. I can't wait to cast on :)

Where oh Where have my knitting needles gone...Oh where oh where can they be

I have no idea where my knitting needles are in all the piles of boxes. I don't know where my knitting bag is either, for that matter. But that didn't stop me from buying yarn for a project I am very eager to make. I have been craving a kelly green cardigan and as soon as I find my knitting needles I am going to get started. I decided to substitute Katia Diana for the Off Shoulder Cardigan #23 pattern(sorry, couldn't find a picture to post) by Tahki. I may be casting on in the middle of the living room, surrounded by boxes, packing blankets and packing tissue- but I must keep my priorities straight...now where the heck did I pack the knitting needles?!

Oh my poor yarn!! Well, moving day is finally over and now to start unpacking. The yarn shelves are crammed into a tiny room, everything else is crammed into the other tiny room and the rest of the house is complete chaos!!! I am just taking it one box at a time, but holey moley do we have a lot of stuff!!! Here are more pictures from moving day.

Played hooky on Friday and went to Seafair to watch the Blue Angels. We were up bright and early and on the water by 8am and tied to the log boom by 8:45am. It is so great to live in the northwest. It was a gorgeous, sunny day and a great way to kick back, even if it was only for a few hours. We had lots to do to get ready for moving day on Saturday so we headed back in at around 2pm and got back to packing our fannies off. Here are a few more pictures from hooky day

Went to the new house last night because we had just gotten the keys! :) The always romantic Ken had gone there earlier to stash champagne in the refrigerator to toast to our new home! As we were toasting the new home he got down on one knee and proposed!! I, of course, said yes :)

New Yarns of the Month are up today!!! This month I am featuring Sierra and Eco+. I also just recieved a shipment of long awaited Madil. Be sure to check out the Merinomix 50....it is oh so soft and delicate!!

Today's the day!!! We go in to sign the papers today and we get the keys tomorrow!!! Then the house is ALL OURS! Ken already has big plans for building on a new huge master bedroom, adding on a deck, and enlarging the garge. I am just thrilled that the inside is already remodeled and the only pressing detail is to paint the spare bedroom pink. More pictures of the new place to come!!
