Toe-up, Magic Loop. two at a time :)

Check it out!!! Last night Liberty showed us how to do toe up socks, magic loop method, two at a time!! WOW!!! I wasn't sure that this was going to work for me, but after a few rounds it was working like a charm :)
Yeah, the toes are a little pointy looking...I might go back and do the decreases a little differently. I am really loving the idea of knitting socks and having a two socks done at the same time (as opposed to my usual 'months later')

A little knitting

Well, I am happy to say, I did get those socks finished up on Friday! And they fit perfectly- which is a bonus!!! With yarn to spare I thought I would try to knit up some little baby socks. Here is the design I came up with. They have little cables running up them :)

In addition to all the errands we needed to run over the weekend we also made some serious progress on the yard and garden. I am very excited to share these pictures of the first blooms coming up on my cherry blossom tree and

hyacinths. These are my first plants that I have ever had in a yard!

I also decided it was time to get my seedlings out of the kitchen and into the yard. Now keep in mind, this is my first time ever doing any of this. I have to admit, there was some swearing and a few seedlings didn't make it! Ken came out to give me a lesson on how to 'delicately' plant seedlings. The process went much better after that. They look a little ragged here, but they will soon pop up and be something...if only I remembered what it was that I planted. Well at least it will be a fun suprise :)

New and Found

Wow, look at me go! Two posts in the same week...that means I have actually had a little knitting time and I am doing the happy dance about that right now :)
Well, I have great news!!! I just got my acceptance letter from a farmer's market I applied to get into!!! I am very very excited about this. I did the farmer's market for 3 years, then took the last couple summers off to play a little. I have missed it very much since then. I decided to get back into it and I was shocked to learn there were only 10 spots available and more than 40 people applying...I was on pins and needles until I found out yesterday that I am officially in!!! WoooooooHoooooo!

In other knitting news, I whipped out this squiggle scarf in a couple days using Sleeping Dragon sock yarns. I am always looking for a way to add a dash of color or creative to an outfit in the morning, but those big ole scarfs just don't cut in the spring and summer. I think I am going to have to pop out a couple more:)
Then, eagerly aticipating learning two-up socks from
Liberty on Wednesday I dug out a pair of socks I started over a year ago and never finished. They were the socks that were one of the casualties of a piece of fruit forgotten in my knitting bag. I had set them aside to avoid the grossness left behind by the old piece of fruit and sorta forgot about them. Well, I was so excited when I found them last night...I only have about 5 more rows that the socks are done!!! I was so shocked that I had put down a project so dang close to the end. So now I will have a new shiney pair of socks by tonight and I will get to learn how to make toe-up in just a few days....I am on a sock roll :)
Have a great weekend!!

Has a whole month already gone by?!

WOW!!! A month since my last post, Geesh! Needless to say, things have been pretty dang crazy...but in a good way.
Believe it or not, I actually got that cardigan done!!! If life were a little more normal, this sweater would have been whipped out in about a week and a half because it was so quick and easy. I love it!! I have worn it pretty much every day since I finished too. :) I may have to consider whipping up another one...and with all the colors that the Bollicine Victor has I could knit one for every day of the week :)
In addition to getting a little knitting done, I have made great progress on the wedding plans. The wedding invitations went out and they were absolutely perfect!!! Between you and me, the main part I always looked forward to with my wedding was the making of the invitations...the rest is just icing on the cake :) I will post a picture of the invitation soon.
A few dear friends also got together to help make the wedding decorations and favors!! Again, they turned out just perfect :) There were pinwheels as far as the eye could seen in the room :) I love them so much I am thinking that I will be hanging them in the guest bedroom after all the wedding hoopla is over. Linda, Donna, Jacque and Jennifer did such an amazing job putting the favors and decorations together and I want to say a SUPER HUGE THANK YOU to them...it really meant a lot to me to have you there!!!
Next on the plate is a couple of knitted 'Swell' Designs I am coming up with. It's been nice to get to knit a little more here and there...stay tuned for more pictures :) As for the wedding stuff...now it's just the loose ends and planning the actually day and how to put it all together...only 5 weeks left. Holey Cow :P
