Happy Halloween from our house! I am have knitting like crazy, but can't show anything off! I have about 4 half finished projects and they are all going to be christmas presents. Such a bummer to not be able to post my knitting pictures. But I can say I used the new Bollicine Victor and it knits up beautifully! I have increased Guppy's winter wardrobe using loads of Cascade Pastaza but I submitted the pattern to knitty.com so I can't share any pictures of those either. None-the less, I have been making knitting progress...can't wait to post the pictures after the holidays are over!

Guppy says Happy Halloween to everyone!

Thirty-Something!!

5am yesterday morning, Ken started my day with a Happy Birthday banner and a cheese cake with candles on it that played the happy birthday tune :) My bithday card had my gift of tickets to see MYSTERE in Las Vegas in December!!! I have been wanted to go to a Cirque Du Soleil show for years, so I was thrilled to say the least. My day continued with donuts at work and balloons from my mom. After work, Ken took me out to a birthday dinner at the Crab Pot...we both happily left with very full bellies! What a great day (even though I am now Thirty-something! Yikes) :)

Miles of ripples

I finished my ripply scarf last night!! I used Bollice Etoile (a yarn of the month) and I strung about 600 little beads on the yarn so the cast off edge would have a bit of sparkle and I LOVE how it looks...now I want to string beads on to everything. I think the scarf turned out a smidge long (can you see that it's also wrapped around my neck and still almost touches the floor) but I really like it! Very whimsical, and how can anything whimsical be bad :P

I am trying to make a ripply scarf and in a pinch because my circulars could no longer hold the number of stitches I had, I needed a pair of MUCH longer circular needles. Turns out Addi Turbos are the longest I could find. I had never had the chance to work on these knitting needles before, but I have to say OH MY GOSH!!! they are so wonderful. I had no idea what I was missing! The stitches just glide right off the needle...They probably would be tough needles to learn on, but are oh-so-wonderful once you know what you are doing.

Went camping this past rainy weekend. We went for oysters, clams and crab. Though we were cold and wet and being blown around by the incredibly strong wind, we did good with the clams and oysters... but only a few crabs were big enough to go home with us. We had fun in spite of being totally and completely drenched from the rain the first night and muddy and sandy the rest of time. As always, the dogs had fun through the mud, sand, rain and sunshine!! Here are some more pictures

How much did you say?!

I found this cute littel knitted clutch with an enormous price tag of $130.00. I am feeling confident that I can replicate it (without the bow) at a fraction of the price!!!

Went to the home show this weekend to visit Ken at this booth and check out all the super cool things you can do to your home. This, for example, is the most cool back splash I could ever hope to have!!! Ken kinda shook his head and said, "Oh my, what the heck am I in for" :) We got suckered into buying one of the TRUELY AMAZING mops they were selling. There were beautiful ponds and stamped concrete that have us inspired to get to work on the back yard. It was kinda fun to stroll around and see all the ideas.

Ken's Booth

Saturday was my mom's birthday so we ventured out to Seattle to check out the new library. Gotta say, it's pretty interesting! This is a picture of the stairway leading to the meeting rooms...The color choices around the rest of the library are just and vivid and shocking. All in all, not a library I feel the need to go to again, but glad I got to see it. I am so old school...regular shelves, tables and chairs in a library are just peachy for me.

The new yarns are uploaded and added to the website! There are many new bulky and chunky yarns. This particular yarn is DiVe Teseo which is a great alternative to some of the high priced Noro yarns. Stop by and check them out, they are oooooohhhh so pretty!

So, the past week and a half has been filled with lots and lots of knitting stuff and the biggest bummer is that I can't share it. With holidays and birthdays coming up, I can't post a darn thing that I am working on...but I gotta say, at the very least, last night's yarn project was sooooooo fun! Last week I finished something super great too!! OH it's killing me not to post pictures!!!

October Yarn of the Month

The new Yarn of the Month is up. After much confusion about the price of Eco+ the last time I had it on sale (because when you put a dash through $18.00 is looks like $10.00) I have put it back up again, but adjusted the regular price to $17.99 and put it on sale for October's Yarn of the Month. Also on sale is Etoile and Iceland. Also, while your there, be sure to check out all our new chunky and bulky yarns that just arrived

Every moment I was able, I had my knitting needles in my hands! I made quite a bit of progress on the Clapotis and at least I don't get asked if I am making a thong :P I am working on size 3 needles so it's a bit slow going, but I think it's going to be so pretty when it's done!!
