An after-thought that still has me thinking

Only problem is I must of done something really wrong, because here's what it looks like when it's not on my foot.

A flinging square heel!!! What the heck?! I decreased every other row until I had 12 stitches remaining. I could have stopped at 24 or 28, but I don't think I would have had a big enough heel for my heel. Should I stop at 20? Should I have done some knit rows before I started decreasing? Should I have done some knit rows after I was done decreasing! HELP!!! I love this type of heel, but this freaky square look is a bit to much to accept!!

Two at a time, toe up socks

I did pretty good on the toe part, but once I got to the foot section I could not get used to the one needle and my tension was crazy. Well, I kept going anyway figuring it was a practice pair and how bad can it really be. Then I realized how bad it really was...it has soooo many puckers and then tight spots, it was a lost cause.
So I scrapped those and started these. I am ultra aware of my tension on these and they seem to be coming along nicely (I shouldn't mention that I had to start over 3 times before I could figure out the dang toe increases).
I have also decided to try the after thought heel....I think the next pair after this will have to be done in different colors for the toe and heel :)

Can you see all the goodies?

Yep! A Super chunky scarf in the middle of summer :)
With things so dang busy these days, I temperarily gave up on making a list of things to do each day because the list was just too scary to look at. Things seemed to get even crazier then and I could barely remember to take my purse with me to work in the morning....
Yesterday, I tried making a 'to do' list again to help me remember a few odds and ends that I needed to get finished up. This scarf being one of them...

Also thanks to the 'to do' list keeping me on track, got all those goodies spun into some yarn last night....This is a work in progress shot, but as soon as the yarn is dry I will post a finished picture.

Sock Wars
Some one at Renton Stitchers posted this link to the Sock Wars. What a super cool idea!!!
Any of you gonna give it a shot? Let me know by posting a comment!!
Catch up Time
Wow! Things have been going at the speed of light lately!!!
I added on many new colors of roving at A Swell Yarn Shop that I am very excited about! Stop in and check them out and let me know what you think.
I did go to Stitch n Pitch this year, but since we scooted off in the weeeeeee hours of the morning the next day on fishing vaction I didn't get to blog about it. Lisa, my super cool neighbor, went with me and she even learned how to knit while were there!!! You go Girl!!! Stitch n Pitch was fun, but I have to admit I couldn't figure out how to watch the game and knit...still haven't mastered the knitting without looking thing :P

I did, however, get a super cool chunky cable scarf knitted while I was up there...it is being blocked right now so I will share a picture later.
With much disappointment we came back into town and heard EVERYONE was catching sockeye on Lake Washington. Still clinging to the hope that we might get some fish in the freezer, we tried fishing again because you can't possible keep getting skunked!!! Shockingly, WE GOT SKUNKED AGAIN!!! No idea what the heck is going, but it is definitely not our year for fishing.
